My first invention was a flexible surfboard fin. As a sailor I saw how a sail would push the boat at different speeds depending on the angle of the sale position. I imagined that if a fin were flexible so it would change its angle when on a wave it would accelerate the board more than if it did not change angle.
I was near Dewey Weber’s surf shop in Hermosa Beach CA in 1976 so I went to his shop with my surfboard and told him about my flexible fin. I was shocked to learn that he had no interest. I dropped my work on that.
Since then I have invented many other new products. One I am expecially proud of is the first webcam software, SnapNSend, invented in 1995 when the only webcams on line were Netscape’s Fishcam and USC’s Tommy Trojan statue cam. I went to USC (my alma mater) to meet with Carl Sutter, one of the designers of the statue cam. I paid him to write a program for me. In those days you had to first open a digital camera app to take a picture. Then you had to spawn a dialer to dial up the internet on a phone line. Last you spawned an FTP program (File Transfer Protocol) to send the picture to your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to put on your web site.
SnapNSend did all that automatically. I started selling the software in 1996 for $100 per copy. And then I called Sean Collins, the founder of Surfline.com, who told me he was having to email pictures he took from his office overlooking Huntington Beach surf and he was elated to know he could buy my program.
Here is what Surfline had to say about that event –

Another invention was made possible by my discovery of CSR Edmonds in Australia in 2015. They gave me permission to use their high performance turbine rooftop ventilator rain hat, seen here, on my whole house fans. I now have the highest performance whole house fans in the world after improving on the Edmonds design.

FOR YOU WHO HAVE NO ATTIC HERE IS THE ROOFTOP AND WALL UNIT
The rooftop is also useful as a wall unit if you prefer to avoid work on your roof. There is only one other wall mounted whole house fan source in America – Airscape. Here is the DVS- Note it is 5064 CFM at a price of $2,929 for a 10 speed unit. The Invisco 8005 CFM roof or wall system is $3,750 for infinitely variable speeds. Airscape is $0.58 per CFM, Invisco is $0.47 per CFM

HERE IS THE NEW YOUTUBE SHORT JUST RELEASED ON 7-9-25
WRAKE has weeder and a two sided rake in one tool
This is a custom made tool that is super handy because you can stand up while you dig up weeds and then you can rake them into piles with the same tool.
See this tool has the rake at one side of the handle and the weed at the other side. To make the rake the easiest to use it can be used near a wall or fence in both directions –

Here it is with the wall to the left

Here is the wall on the right

Here it is pulling a weed

HUGE Whole House Fans
I have invented fans the world has never seen. These were started when a young man, Gearard, in Murrieta called me to ask if I could install the ceiling fan he just bought.
When I met him at his home I asked if he would like to have the fan installed in his attic instead of in a ceiling so that he could not hear it and he could close his bedroom door when it was on.
Here he is showing off the air coming in his window

He said yes please do so I invented this box to connect the big fan to ducts for his bedrooms.

Some time later I was called to install a fan in a home in Temecula. This was a similar challenge and here is how I did it. Here you can see the box is much larger and has 4 duct connectors. This used a big 36 inch ceiling fan from Triangle Engineering. I was lucky to be able to get the big fan up through the attic entrance. The box was lifted up in sections – each side was disconnected.

WHF FOR HOMES WITH NO ATTIC
CHOOSE FROM ROOFTOP MOUNT OR WALL MOUNT
Below is a comparison between the Invisco wall unit and the only other source – Airscape.
Airscape’s price is higher per CFM so you get more air flow from Invisco for less per CFM.

SHED WITH POPUP ROOF
PERFECT FOR HOMES WITH HOAs THAT FORBID SHEDS TO SHOW OVER FENCES OR BLOCK WALLS BETWEEN HOMES.
The shed has these features
- The roof is lifted by 4 mechanisms each at a corner.
- It is lifted by a switch that is activated when the door is opened.
- It goes down when the door is closed.
- The shed walls are assembled from inside so the shed can be set right next to a wall.
STUDIO CITY GYMNASIUM DESIGN
This page is for those who want more information about Invisco’s rooftop ventilation fans that are designed into the gymnasium for maximum ventilation at lowest energy cost. There are no other fans like the Invisco hybrids anywhere in the world. How can I say that? Because I got the rain hat design from Edmonds in Australia and I improved it – you can see how below.

Here is the original Australian design with a motor under the turbine. Below it is my improvement (that is patent pending) where I added a big motor and blade under the turbine after removing the small motor.

The picture below shows the air inlet side. It is mounted under the turbine with the air blowing from the motor side past the blade up to the turbine and out.

CROWDVESTING IN INVISCO
4-28-25 NEWS FROM KURT SHAFER
Signs that fly are my inventions and are products (patent pending) held up by drones or small helicopters and made with cloth signs printed on both sides. They are powered through cables that tether the drone to a location.
I have opened a crowdvesting program on GiveButter.com to award you who want to help me build my first demo unit to present to real estate companies. I have one in mind that has over 200 offices and over 2000 agents. I am going to ask them for orders this year and offer them an exclusive if they buy at least one per agent.
The point of this page is to give you a reason to help me get the word out about my company, INVISCO LLC. My crowdvesting plan is an opportunity to help me and make good money for yourself at the same time.
First, I expect that Dr. Payne and the nurses at YRMC Wound Care will be here to accept the gift I just gave them for the YEAR AND 3 MONTHS they have put up with me and my leg wound. They are all a gift from God.
So here is your action to take –
Go to my crowdvesting page here – and send me $10 or more https://2ly.link/26Jpr
You will get stock in my INVISCO LLC that will be worth a lot more than you send me.
And SHARE this please! Let me know which of your family or friends send money and you will get 100 shares for each one you send. The 100 shares will be worth $60 soon!
Many regards,
Kurt
